Terms of Use – Bíblia — Estude Mais

These are the rules that apply to anyone using the Bíblia — Estude Mais app, developed and maintained by ScaleCodex.

Last updated: September 2, 2026

Language note. This document was filed with the app stores in Portuguese. The English and Spanish versions are provided for convenience — where they diverge, the Portuguese text prevails.

1. Acceptance of the Terms

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Bíblia — Estude Mais app, developed and maintained by ScaleCodex (“we”). By downloading, installing, accessing or using the app, you declare that you have read, understood and fully agree with these conditions.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, do not use the app and uninstall it from your device.

2. About the app

Bíblia — Estude Mais is a Bible reader with the 66 books and the 31,102 verses bundled inside the app itself. It lets you highlight verses, write notes, save bookmarks, search the whole text, follow reading plans and consult an index of study topics.

The app works fully offline: reading and the study features depend neither on an internet connection nor on a server.

3. Use without an account

No account is needed to use the app. Without an account, every reading and study feature remains available and your records stay only in the storage of the device itself.

In that mode, safekeeping of the data is entirely yours: uninstalling the app, clearing the app data or losing the device means losing the local records, with no possibility of recovery by us.

4. Optional account

Creating an account is optional and exists only to sync the personal library (highlights, notes, bookmarks, history and plan progress) across devices. By creating an account, you undertake to:

  • provide truthful, current and complete information when registering;
  • keep your access credentials confidential;
  • not share your account with third parties;
  • notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

You are responsible for all activity carried out with your credentials.

5. Permitted use

We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to use the app on your devices, for personal, study, devotional or teaching purposes, in accordance with these Terms and with the rules of the store where the app was obtained.

6. Prohibited conduct

When using Bíblia — Estude Mais, you may not:

  • use the app for any unlawful purpose or in a way that violates third-party rights;
  • attempt to access accounts, data or areas of the system that are not yours;
  • reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or attempt to extract the source code;
  • extract the app database in order to redistribute it as your own product;
  • copy, modify, sell, sublicense or create derivative works from the app;
  • interfere with the operation of the service, overload the infrastructure or circumvent technical limits;
  • remove copyright notices, licence attributions, trademarks or identifying marks.

Breaching these rules authorises immediate suspension or termination of account access, without prejudice to any applicable legal measures.

7. Notes, highlights and bookmarks

The notes, highlights, bookmarks and other annotations you create belong to you. We claim no ownership over that content and use it only to operate the features of the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.

You are solely responsible for the content you record. Without an active account, that content exists only on the device and cannot be recovered by us.

8. Bible text and licences

The bundled Bible text is the Bíblia Livre (BLIVRE), updated from the 1819 Almeida translation and distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence.

All Portuguese Scripture quoted is from the Bíblia Livre (BLIVRE), Copyright © Diego Santos, Mario Sérgio and Marco Teles — February 2018. Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 Brazil licence.

The typefaces used (Inter and Source Serif 4) are distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The app code is original and belongs to ScaleCodex.

When sharing passages exported by the app, keep the translation attribution as the licence requires.

9. Doctrinal disclaimer

The app is a reading and study tool. It does not represent, endorse or align itself with any denomination, church, religious institution or doctrinal current. The topical indexes, reading plans and supporting material are aids for organising personal study and do not constitute official interpretation, or religious, spiritual, psychological or legal advice.

10. Availability and updates

We work to keep the app available and functioning, but the service is offered “as is”, with no guarantee of uninterrupted or error-free operation.

  • we may release updates, fix defects, change, suspend or discontinue features;
  • syncing depends on third-party services and on an internet connection;
  • outdated versions of the app may stop working correctly;
  • if the service is discontinued, we will give notice through the app or by email with reasonable advance warning, where possible.

11. Intellectual property

The app, its source code, its interface, its icons, trademarks, logos and other visual elements belong to ScaleCodex and are protected by Brazilian and international intellectual property law. The Bible text licence is described in the Bible text and licences section.

These Terms do not transfer to you any ownership right over the app — only the licence of use described in the Permitted use section.

12. Third-party services

When an account is active, the app uses third-party services for authentication and syncing (Supabase and, if you choose to sign in with Google, Google identity services). Distribution is through Google Play. Those services have their own terms and policies, to which you are also subject when using them.

We are not liable for failures, outages or policy changes from those providers, even where they affect syncing.

13. Free use and paid features

Bíblia — Estude Mais is provided free of charge in its current version, with no advertising. If we begin offering paid features, subscriptions or in-app purchases, the prices and the terms of billing, renewal and cancellation will be stated clearly before purchase, and the refund rules of the distribution store will apply.

14. Termination and account deletion

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. If you created an account, you may request its deletion along with all synced data.

How to delete your account: send an email to sidneydasilva537@gmail.com from the address registered in the app, with the subject “Excluir conta — Bíblia”. The full procedure is described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that breach these Terms, that are used fraudulently, or that pose a risk to the security of the service and of other users.

Account deletion is final and cannot be undone. Data held only on the device is not affected by account deletion — and vice versa.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ScaleCodex is not liable for:

  • interpretations, decisions or conduct adopted on the basis of content read in the app;
  • loss of notes, highlights and bookmarks kept only on the device, without an active account;
  • outages caused by third parties, by the network, or by fortuitous events and force majeure;
  • use of the app in breach of these Terms.

Nothing in this section removes the rights granted to consumers by Brazilian law, in particular by the Consumer Protection Code.

16. Privacy and data protection

The processing of your personal data is described in the Bíblia — Estude Mais Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the app, you declare that you are aware of the practices described there, carried out in accordance with the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Lei nº 13.709/2018).

17. Audience and minimum age

The app is aimed at the general public and there is no minimum age to use it — it works fully without registration. Children and adolescents should only create an account with the supervision of a legal guardian, who may request deletion of the account and data at any time.

18. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated at any time to reflect changes in the app or in the law. The version in force is always the one published on this page, with the update date shown at the top. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email.

Using the app after a new version is published means you accept the updated conditions.

19. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The courts of the user domicile are elected to settle any dispute arising from this document, waiving any other, however privileged.
