Privacy Policy – Aprova Cartões

This page describes how the Aprova Cartões app handles the information of its users.

Language note. This document was filed with the app stores in Portuguese. The English and Spanish versions are provided for convenience — where they diverge, the Portuguese text prevails.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how the Aprova Cartões app, developed by ScaleCodex, handles the information of its users.

By using the app, you agree to the terms of this Policy.

2. Summary in one sentence

Aprova Cartões has no account, no server and sends nothing anywhere. Everything you answer in the survey is stored only in the local storage of your own device, and disappears when you clear the app data or uninstall it.

3. About the app

Aprova Cartões helps you find which credit card fits your profile. A seven-question survey builds that profile, the app ranks a catalogue of cards by fit, estimates an educational credit profile indicator and lets you compare two options side by side.

The card catalogue is bundled inside the app itself and the recommendation is computed on the device. No server, credit bureau or financial institution is queried to produce the result.

4. There is no user account

The app has no registration, login, password or user profile. We do not ask for name, email, phone, tax ID, date of birth or any document. There is no login screen at any point — the app opens straight into the content.

Because there is no account, there is also nothing to recover, transfer between devices or restore: the data lives and dies on the device where it was created.

5. What is stored on the device

So it does not ask everything again at every launch, the app writes to the local storage of the device:

  • the survey answers — benefit priority, approximate income range, credit standing, willingness to pay an annual fee, how many cards you already have, how often you travel abroad and your main objective with the card;
  • the fact that you have already seen the intro;
  • the cards you marked as favourites;
  • the history of cards you visited;
  • the two cards chosen on the comparison screen;
  • the filter and sorting preferences of the offers screen.

This information is written as local app preferences (in the browser, in localStorage, under keys prefixed with aprova.). On platforms with no storage available, it stays only in memory and is lost when the app closes — the app keeps working normally, it simply does not remember the last session.

Income range and credit standing are sensitive data from a financial point of view. Precisely for that reason, they never leave the device: there is no transmission, no server to receive them and no cloud backup on our side. They are used exclusively to rank the list of cards the app already ships with.

6. What is not collected

The app does not:

  • create an account, or collect name, email, phone, tax ID or date of birth;
  • collect payment data, card number, statement, limit or balance;
  • query a credit score, Serasa, SPC, Boa Vista or any bureau;
  • show advertising or do advertising profiling;
  • use usage analytics tools, behavioural tracking or advertising identifiers;
  • collect your location;
  • access contacts, photos, camera, microphone, files or messages on the device;
  • send notifications;
  • sell, rent or share personal data with third parties.

7. The assistant Letícia

The conversational assistant in the app (“Letícia”) answers questions about annual fees, credit standing, limits and air miles. She is entirely local: the answers come from a set of texts bundled in the app.

Nothing you write to the assistant is sent over the internet — there is no external artificial intelligence service, no conversation server, and the chat history is not saved between sessions.

8. Permissions and network access

The published version of the app declares no sensitive permissions. The app does not need the internet to work: survey, recommendation, comparison and assistant all run offline.

The only outbound step happens when you tap a button to apply for a card: in that case, the address of the institution page is opened in your device browser, and from there on it is that institution which handles your data, under its own privacy policy. Aprova Cartões does not follow, intermediate or receive any feedback from that navigation.

9. Third-party services

The app integrates no third-party SDKs for advertising, analytics or authentication. The only third parties involved are:

  • the app store used to distribute and update the app, which collects its own installation data under the store own policy;
  • the browser and the financial institutions whose pages you decide to open from the app;
  • the hosting provider of the web version, which records technical access data (IP address and browser agent) like any site on the internet.

10. Storage and security

We keep no servers, databases or backups with Aprova Cartões user data — there is therefore no base of ours that could leak. The protection of locally stored data is the protection of the device itself: screen lock, device encryption and the isolation between apps guaranteed by the operating system.

In the web version, data stays in the browser local storage, accessible only to whoever uses that browser in that profile. On shared computers, prefer a private window or clear the site data when you finish.

11. Data retention

Data stays on the device while the app is installed, until you erase it. There is no expiry period set by us because there is nothing in our custody.

12. Data deletion

You erase everything without depending on anyone and without asking permission:

Android: Settings → Apps → Aprova Cartões → Storage → Clear data. Uninstalling the app has the same effect.

Web version: clear the site data in the browser settings (“Cookies and site data”) for the Aprova Cartões address.

Only the answers: on the profile indicator screen, the Retake survey button discards the previous answers and starts over.

The Delete account and data – Aprova Cartões page details each route.

13. User rights

The Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD) guarantees you access to, correction of, portability of and deletion of your personal data, as well as withdrawal of consent.

In the case of Aprova Cartões, these rights are resolved entirely on your device: since we neither receive nor store personal data, there is no record of ours to access, correct, port or delete. Even so, if you have any question or want to exercise one of those rights, write through the channels in the Contact section — we reply within 30 days.

14. Audience and minimum age

The app deals with financial products and is aimed at people over 18, which is the age from which a credit card can be taken out in one own name in Brazil. The content is informational and no data is collected from any user, whatever their age.

15. Nature of the information shown

The app is an informational and educational tool. ScaleCodex is not a financial institution, banking correspondent, card issuer or credit intermediary, and does not receive your data to pass on to banks.

The fit score shown measures how well a card matches your answers, and the profile indicator is an educational estimate. Neither is a credit bureau score nor a promise of approval — the interface itself says so where the numbers appear. Conditions, annual fees and benefits must be confirmed with the issuing institution. Details in the Terms of Use.

16. Changes to this Policy

This Policy may be updated from time to time. The most recent version will always be available at this address. Material changes will be signalled by the last updated date at the top of this page.
