Terms of Use – Aprova Cartões

These are the rules for using the Aprova Cartões app, and the limits of what it does.

Last updated: September 10, 2026

Language note. This document was filed with the app stores in Portuguese. The English and Spanish versions are provided for convenience — where they diverge, the Portuguese text prevails.

1. Acceptance of the Terms

These Terms of Use govern the use of the Aprova Cartões app, developed and distributed by ScaleCodex. By installing, opening or using the app, you declare that you have read, understood and agree with these Terms.

If you do not agree with any point, do not use the app.

2. About the app

Aprova Cartões is an informational and educational app about credit cards. From a seven-question survey, it organises a catalogue of cards by fit with your profile, presents an educational credit profile indicator, lets you compare two options side by side and answers common questions through a local assistant.

All processing happens on the device. The app works without an account and without an internet connection.

3. What the app is not

ScaleCodex is not a financial institution, bank, card issuer, banking correspondent, broker or credit intermediary. The app does not assess credit, does not submit applications, does not approve, does not decline and does not interfere in any decision of any institution.

The app is also not:

  • financial, investment or legal advice;
  • a channel for applying for, taking out or cancelling cards;
  • a credit bureau lookup (Serasa, SPC, Boa Vista or equivalents);
  • a debt negotiation or credit repair service.

4. Fit score and profile indicator

The app shows two numbers, and they mean different things:

  • Fit score (0 to 100) — how well the characteristics of a card match the answers you gave. It is a measure of fit, not of approval.
  • Profile indicator (0 to 1000) — an educational estimate of your credit profile, calculated only from your own answers.

Neither is a credit score and neither predicts approval. The indicator comes from no bureau, is looked up nowhere and has no relation to the scores that banks and bureaus use. Granting credit is decided exclusively by the issuing institution, using its own criteria, which we do not know.

The card information shown — annual fee, suggested minimum income, cashback, points, benefits and coverage — is indicative, is there for comparison, and may be out of date or may not match the offer available to you.

Actual conditions vary by profile, application channel, campaign and moment. Always confirm everything directly with the issuing institution before signing up. ScaleCodex does not guarantee the accuracy, currency or availability of any condition shown in the app.

6. The decisions are yours

The content of the app is supporting material. Any decision to apply for, take out, keep or cancel a credit card is entirely yours, as are the financial consequences of that decision — including annual fees, interest, charges, debt and effects on your credit history.

For significant decisions, seek professional guidance and read the institution contract before signing.

Some cards have a button that opens, in your device browser, the page of the institution responsible. From the moment that page opens, you are outside the app: the content, the security, the terms and the privacy policy of that page are the responsibility of the institution, not of ScaleCodex.

The presence of a card in the catalogue is not a commercial recommendation, sponsorship or endorsement of the issuing institution.

8. Use without an account

The app has no registration, login or user profile. Answers, favourites, history and preferences are stored only in the local storage of your device and are entirely under your responsibility and control.

Because there is no account and no copy on a server, that data cannot be recovered if you clear the app data, change device or uninstall the app.

9. Permitted use

The app is licensed for personal, free and non-commercial use. You may:

  • install and use the app on as many of your devices as you like;
  • browse the catalogue, compare cards and retake the survey as many times as you like;
  • share information from the app in personal conversations, citing the source.

10. Prohibited conduct

It is forbidden to:

  • copy, redistribute or resell the app or its catalogue as your own product;
  • decompile, reverse engineer or modify the app, except where the law allows;
  • extract the content automatically in order to build competing databases or services;
  • use the Aprova Cartões brand, name or icon without written authorisation;
  • present the app results to third parties as an official credit assessment or as a promise of approval;
  • use the app for any unlawful purpose.

11. Availability and updates

The app is offered “as is”. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, update the catalogue or end distribution at any time, without prior notice and without that creating any obligation to compensate.

Because the app works offline, older installed versions keep working with the catalogue they shipped with — another reason to confirm conditions with the institution.

12. Intellectual property

The code, the design, the texts, the icons and the Aprova Cartões brand belong to ScaleCodex. The Inter typeface is distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Names, trademarks and logos of banks, card networks and loyalty programmes mentioned belong to their respective owners and are used only for identification and comparison, with no link, partnership or sponsorship.

13. Free of charge

The app is free: there is no subscription, in-app purchase, advertising or charge of any kind. We receive no commission for cards taken out through the links in the app. If that changes, these Terms will be updated and the change will be made explicit in the app.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ScaleCodex is not liable for:

  • financial decisions taken on the basis of the content of the app;
  • a decline, approval, limit, annual fee or condition granted by any institution;
  • any divergence between the catalogue information and the actual conditions of the institution;
  • loss of locally stored data through clearing data, changing or losing the device;
  • temporary unavailability, failures or errors of the app;
  • content, practices or losses originating on third-party sites opened from the app.

Nothing in these Terms removes the rights the Consumer Protection Code guarantees you.

15. Ending your use

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. Since there is no account, there is nothing to cancel on our side; to erase what was stored on the device, follow the Delete account and data page.

16. Privacy and data protection

The handling of information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. In short: the app collects no personal data, has no server and transmits nothing of what you answer.

17. Audience and minimum age

The app deals with financial products that can only be taken out by adults and is therefore aimed at people over 18. Minors should use the app only with the supervision of a guardian, and always for educational purposes.

18. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. The most recent version will always be available at this address, with the last updated date at the top of the page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you agree with the new version.

19. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The courts of the user domicile are elected to settle any dispute arising from these Terms.
